History

Long before the rise of kingdoms, before the first vampire courts and before the great lycan packs roamed the wilderness, there existed a forgotten realm known as Shadowmere. Bathed in perpetual twilight, it was a land where moonlight and darkness mingled as one, and where neither beast nor immortal held dominion over the other.

In those ancient nights, the powerful Vampire Elder known as ℂℓєσ ԑւᶑrլեcի sought to claim the sacred lands of Shadowmere. Opposing her stood the Lycan Matriarch Zєɳα ℰ Ɗяgø δαɳgυɨɳɨร, defender of the forests and silver-lit valleys that had belonged to her people since the dawn of memory.

For years, war consumed the land. Blood stained the earth beneath the moon. Entire bloodlines vanished. Great packs fell into extinction. Yet neither side could achieve victory.

As the conflict reached its darkest hour, an ancient force emerged from beyond the veil, threatening not merely vampires or lycans, but all life beneath the stars. Faced with annihilation, the two leaders chose a path no one believed possible.

Beneath a Black Moon Eclipse, upon an ancient stone altar, vampire blood and lycan blood were mingled within a single chalice. Before gathered clans and packs, an oath was sworn.

"Neither fang nor claw shall rule alone. The moon shall guide us. The blood shall bind us. Together we shall endure."

From this sacred covenant, Shadowmere was reborn.

Though the war had ended, suspicion remained. Many vampire courts viewed the alliance as heresy, while many lycan packs questioned its legitimacy. During this uncertain era, Cleo and Zena traveled beyond the borders of Shadowmere seeking allies capable of seeing beyond ancient prejudices.

Their search eventually brought them before Suraya Eames, leader of the Eternal Legion. For three nights and three moons, the leaders spoke beneath torchlight and starlit skies. Cleo spoke of unity forged through sacrifice. Zena spoke of strength found through cooperation. Together they shared the story of the Black Moon Covenant.

Where others saw weakness, Suraya saw evolution.

On the fourth night, before the warriors of the Eternal Legion, Suraya placed her hand upon the Covenant Stone and pledged her support.

"The night is vast enough for many paths. If blood can end a war, then wisdom can build a future. Let the Eternal Legion stand beside Shadowmere."

Thus Suraya became the Third Pillar of Shadowmere.

From that moment forward, the Blood of Shadowmere ceased to be merely an alliance between two leaders and became a living legacy carried forward by all who believed in its ideals.
