DawnDream Glossary

The official compendium of relics, titles, organizations, resources, and traditions found throughout the realms of DawnDream.

Resources

Amrita

A rare mystical resource earned through daily activity. Four days are required to create a complete Amrita. It is used in Embracings, rituals, relics, and various systems throughout the realm.

Velarium

A valuable resource obtained from humans carrying the Solomonic Blood. Velarium may be exchanged for age through the Velarium Chalice.

Vitality

The life force that sustains Lycans and fuels their existence.

Ferocity

The primal energy consumed by Lycans to activate supernatural abilities.

Political Organizations

Bloodline

The ancient lineages from which the great clans of DawnDream descend.

Leadership:

  • Arch Vampire
  • Blood Guardian

Clan

The primary political and military organization of vampires. Clans unite Houses beneath a common banner and Bloodline.

Leadership:

  • War Captain

House

A noble vampiric family operating within a Clan.

Leadership:

  • Centurion

Pack

A Lycan family operating within a Clan.

Leadership:

Independent rebel factions that reject the authority of the Eternal Throne and operate beyond the laws of the realm.

Titles and Offices

Sentinel

The administrators and guardians of DawnDream.

Magistrate

Trusted assistants of the Sentinels who perform various duties throughout the realm.

Umbra Fontis

The right hand of the Eternal Source and one of the highest honors within DawnDream.

Velkarion

A trusted counselor and voice of the Eternal Source.

Rituals and Transformations

Infusion

The vampiric ritual that begins the Embrace process. A human receives the blood of a vampire and waits twenty-four hours before transformation.

Moonblood Rite

The Lycan equivalent of Infusion. Through this ritual, a human is prepared to receive the Moonblood Curse.

First Hunt Altar

The altar used to complete a Lycan's transformation after the preparation period has ended.

Chrono Blood Relic

A relic that accelerates the vampiric transformation process.

Chrono Moon Crystal

A relic that accelerates the Lycan transformation process.

Relics and Artifacts

Bloodsworn Book

A relic used to bind members to a House through a blood oath.

Vigil Stone

A relic that allows a vampire to monitor those bound to their blood.

Moonwatch Stone

A Lycan relic used to monitor vitality, condition, and hunting activity.

Sanctum Stone

A protective relic that prevents attacks within its designated territory.

Race Stone Awakening

An ancient artifact capable of changing a creature's race between Vampire and Lycan.

Primal Bond Stone

A relic capable of altering a Lycan's progenitor and bloodline connections.

Recovery and Resurrection

Revival Altar

A sacred altar capable of restoring fallen vampires.

Echo of Immortality

A rare potion infused with ancient blood used to revive dead vampires.

Moon Revival Altar

A ritual stone capable of restoring fallen Lycans.

Human Rebirth Elixir

A potion crafted to return dead humans to life.

Traditions and Laws

Blood Vow

The sacred marriage ritual between two members of the realm.

Masquerade

The sacred law of secrecy protecting the hidden existence of vampires, lycans, and other creatures from humanity.

Torpor

A deep state of vampiric hibernation that grants rewards and recovery over time.

Death Penalty

The consequence of death within DawnDream. Upon dying, a character loses all Velarium and Amrita in their possession.

Feed Penalty

A punishment incurred when feeding from a dead human, resulting in blood loss.
